Poetry as Commemoration Jukebox

The Poetry as Commemoration Jukebox brings poetry and history to public spaces through an interactive sound installation. Wind the handle, select a poem, then sit back and listen to poems by writers who either lived through the violent upheaval of the War of Independence and Civil War, or those who reflect upon the transformation of Ireland from the vantage point of history. Writers include Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin, John Hewitt, Jane Clarke, W.B. Yeats, Máire Mhac an tSaoi and more.

Poetry as Commemoration is an initiative of the Irish Poetry Reading Archive at UCD Library and is supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, under the Decade of Centenaries 2012-2023 programme.

Project partners include Poetry Ireland, Arts Council Northern Ireland and Quotidian Ltd.
