John Conway is a visual artist based in Rua Red South Dublin Arts Centre. His work is characterised by innovative multi-disciplinary projects and sophisticated solo and participatory artworks which are often produced in response to sensitive, challenging, or novel contexts. He frequently commissions, curates, and collaborates with other arts and non-arts specialists and orchestrates complex multi-stakeholder projects.
Recent work includes Moments That Matter, a collaboration with mothers of children in end-of-life hospice care, and In With The Old / Out With The New, a neon diptych installed on a lake island in Turlough Park, Mayo. Recent awards include the 2022 South Dublin County Council Individual Artists Bursary Award, the Next Generation Artist Award 2021, Brightening Air | Coiscéim Coiligh 2021, and The Arts Participation Bursary 2020 (All arts council). John is the founder and director of Other People’s Practices.
