In our Behind Closed Doors Series, we invite you to join us for a guided tour of our local Waterford Masonic Lodge building, learn about Freemasonry and see our Lodge Meeting room. The tour start time is 11:30am and the duration is approximately 1 hour. Waterford City and County Council are very grateful to the Lodge for facilitating this tour.
Freemasonry in Waterford city dates back to at least 1757. Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest traditional and fraternal organisations. It has 3 main focuses; fraternity and friendship between all its members, charitable relief to those in need, and preserving its traditions and customs at our Lodge gatherings.
The Masonic Lodge can be found at 1 Waterside, Waterside, Waterford, X91 VN84.
Information about Freemasonry can be found on the Grand Lodge of Ireland website.
Rosemary Ryall, our City Conservation Officer presents this wonderful series of house calls giving us the opportunity to get a in-depth look at building we pass on the street everyday, wonder about or don’t even see.
Rosemary will walk and talk us through buildings and layers of a complex history to reveal architecture that forms an integral part of the City’s cultural heritage and identity.
