Born in Tramore Co. Waterford in 1922 George Morrison is best known for his documentaries Mise Éire (1959) and Saoirse (1962) but he has a long list of work (42 films and 11 books) and indeed is credited with the creation of Ireland's film archive through his pioneering work. He made his first film 'Dracula' in 1942 and since then has worked mostly in documentary films - his most recent documentary on Joyce's Dublin was 'Dublin Day' (2007).
