The artwork in progress is a fitting metaphor for the current global situation. It is an exploration, a process, a searching for solutions. The now is chaos, the ending undefined. Failure is an everpresent possibility…

The Galway Incident is a short film (5 minutes) that tells the story of happenings during a night-out in Galway city. As the narrative becomes increasingly fragmented, both visually and aurally, the viewer has to work harder and harder to follow the story. The film was intended to be projected onto an installation accompanied by events and workshops exploring the experiences of the hard of hearing. However, interrupted by current events, the artist has chosen to present the work as is.

In addition to the online premiere of this short film, Scott will also be presenting research connected to this project in the form of 3 short pieces in the form of filmed interactions, re-enactions, online talks or workshops. Or something. Probably. But then…who knows?

Clare Scott is a multi-undisciplinary artist and writer based in the South East of Ireland.
